Aries
The Secret Flâneur
March 21 - April 19
There was a very popular book published back in 2006 about a woman who travels to find herself after a series of failed relationships. I’m sure that most of you are familiar with the book, as it inspired many frustrated people to do something different with their lives. While I don’t think that Aries is looking for a way out, I do believe that Aries could benefit from an indulgent trip designed to stimulate their senses.
Back in 2019, I took a spontaneous trip to Edinburgh, Scotland to paint and explore the city. I met a local artist, who after hearing my plans to simply “wander around” for the weekend, called me a flâneur. It was the first time I had ever heard the word. A flâneur, according to the artist, is sort of like a visual poet, an individual who explores aimlessly without a destination.
I feel that Aries has the greatest potential to wander in this way, experiencing a city through taste, touch, and sound. However, many Aries get stuck in travel ruts, returning to the same places over and over again.
You find comfort in these rituals, Aries, but they prevent you from discovering your inner flâneur. Open up your world with a trip to a new, exciting destination.
Like a certain writer, you would love to visit Italy, India, and Indonesia, but to get the most out of your adventures, design your travel around what intrigues you. A confident Aries could take a solo weekend trip away to a foodie and art city like San Francisco or Boston. Abroad, Aries could go for a lengthier trip to Paris or Copenhagen.
Don't forget to indulge yourself, Aries. For you, a big part of self-care is giving yourself permission to spoil yourself from time to time.
